Recovery Pro - File Recovery is an Android data recovery app made by the developer Makes Your Life Easier. It is built to help you get back photos, videos, music, documents, and other files that you deleted by accident or lost after a system issue. The app first showed up on Google Play in 2019 and you can only get it there, not on the App Store. Install numbers are modest, somewhere past the 100,000 mark, so it sits in the small-app range. The app is free to download and you can use the basic scan without paying. No sign-up is needed, which is nice when you are in a hurry. There are in-app purchases for the full recovery side, and ads show up on the free version, so expect a few pop-ups while you work.

Using this app is pretty simple. Once you install it, let it scan your storage and it will list the files it can still find. You pick what you want and tap recover. A tip from my own use: stop taking new photos or saving new files as soon as you notice a deletion, because every new file can overwrite the old data you are trying to save. Another tip is to run a deep scan if the quick one misses something, then preview the file before you restore it. Small files are easier to bring back than big videos. If the recovery fails, try again right after a restart, it sometimes helps.

There are lots of similar apps on Google Play, like DiskDigger and EaseUS MobiSaver. I tried a couple of them and came back to this one. The reason is simple: the layout makes sense and I did not need a tutorial to figure it out. DiskDigger is fine too, but I found its menus a bit messy. This app is also smaller, so it downloads fast and does not eat much space. For a quick job on a phone that is not full of clutter, it does what I need without a lot of extra noise.

Features

  • 🔍 The scan is quick and shows deleted photos and files in a clear list, so you can preview before you recover anything.
  • 📱 The app is light and installs fast from Google Play, which matters on older phones with little room left.
  • 💾 Deep scan mode digs further into storage than the basic one and has found files I thought were gone for good.
  • 🔒 It works offline, so your files stay on your phone while you recover them, unlike some cloud-based tools.

Pros

  • 👍 The interface is cleaner than DiskDigger, so a first-time user can start a scan in seconds.
  • 👍 Download size is small compared to EaseUS MobiSaver, and it does not slow the phone down.
  • 👍 The free scan lets you see what is recoverable before you pay anything.

Cons

  • 👎 Ads on the free version are frequent and pop up at annoying moments, more than DiskDigger shows.
  • 👎 The full recovery needs an in-app purchase, and the price is not obvious until you finish a scan.
  • 👎 It cannot recover data from a phone that will not turn on, while EaseUS MobiSaver handles more of those cases.
